Welsh Schools NASUWT U14 & U16 Cup & Plate Final 2025 @ Brecon

At one of the biggest grass roots competition for secondary schools in the summer term, the NASUWT Cymru Wales Cup & Plate Finals will take place at the Penlan Arena, Brecon on Wednesday 9th July.

The cup competition has been organised each year since 1988 while the plate final was added in 2007.

Schools from across the eight districts in Wales - Afan Nedd Tawe, Cardiff & Vale, Dyfed, Eryri, Glamorgan Valleys, North East Wales, Powys and South East Wales - will see teams who have qualified from their district competitions in May & June head to Powys. Each district has one team in the cup competition and one team in the plate competition.

The age groups are under 14 (year 7 & 8) and under 16 (year 9 & 10). It is a team competition rather than an individual event.

The sprint hurdles starts the action at 1pm. Other disciplines to take place are (Track) 1500m, 200m, 300m, 100m, 800m, 4 x 100m Relay and (Field) Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Shot, Discus and Javelin.

Seven schools from Dyfed have qualified to represent the District in Aberdare as follows:

Under 16 Boys - CUP: Ysgol Dyffryn Aman - PLATE: Ysgol Caer Elen
