Dolerw Park, Newtown will host the 26th Welsh Inter-Regional Cross Country Championships.
It will be held on SATURDAY 29th NOVEMBER 2025
Incorporated into the event are the Urdd's Year 3 to 6 primary schools races before the main programme begins at noon.
The event will be the sixth time where it has merged with the full Welsh Inter-Regional Cross Country Championships (West Wales, South Wales, East Wales, North Wales)

Teams of up to 15 have been selected to compete in each of the West Wales age groups in the inter-regional element at Newtown which begins with the Under 13 juniors and goes up to the seniors and masters.
Selection for the West Wales team was at Margam on Saturday 11th October as part of fixture one of John H Collins Gwent Cross Country League.

Please report to the team managers at the West Wales tent to collect kit and numbers no later than 1 hour before your scheduled race times.

Parking
Parking is available nearby across several sites. The main one is the main town car park (Back Lane Car Park) and may become full so please plan ahead and choose a car park that ensures that all guests don't try to use the same car park.

Back Lane Car Park: (also known as the bus station): SY16 4NH - Closest to Dolerw Park, Pay & Display
Ladywell House Car Park: SY16 1JB - Approx 800m from Dolwerw Park
Gravel Car Park: SY16 2AD - Opposite the Post Office, Pay & Display. Approximately 1km from Dolerw Park. the easist pedestrian route is along the river path.
Registration
Race HQ including the registration function will be based at the Red Welsh Athletics Marquee near the start area as indicated on the course map.
Numbers for athletes competing only in the Inter-Schools Championships can be collected by athletes / School Teachers directly from Race HQ.
Numbers for athletes competing in the Primary School Races can also be picked up from Race HQ.
All numbers must be collected no later than 40 mins before the race start time.
The Venue
Newtown has been selected because of it's central position within Wales. The venue has been used in the past to host fixtures in the North Wales Cross Country League.
Catering is available at the Hafan Yr Afon Visitor Centre in the car park, across the main river Bridge from the course. There are many other options available nearby in the Town Centre.
Toilets are available in the main car park, near Dolerw Park.
Welsh Athletics will be retailing at the event, near the Registration area.
