Welsh Athletics hosted its first Welsh Outdoor Championships of the track and field season over the weekend of Saturday 14th June and Sunday 15th June.
The under 13, under 15 and under 20 championships kick started the championship season over two-days as more than 500 athletes headed to Swansea Bay Sports Park for an action-packed weekend of athletics. There was a full programme of more than 100 events covering all track and field disciplines (excluding 3000m).
A total of thirty-seven athletes from Carmarthen & District Harriers Athletics Club made the short journey up the M4 to compete as the summer season reached the half way stage. A total of eighteen medals were won and there were several new personal and season bests recorded.

In two weeks time, the Welsh Athletics Senior and U17 Track and Field Championships will attract almost 800 athletes to the Welsh Capital, as it also incorporates the British Athletics U23 trials for the European U23 championships this summer.
