Upcoming West Wales Indoor Regional Championships 2023-24: Cardiff & Swansea

West Wales Indoor Regional Championships 2023-2024 will be held in December and January.

Cardiff and Swansea will host the West Wales Indoor Championships, over two days in Cardiff on Sunday 3rd December 2023 and Sunday 7th January 2024 (as part of the Welsh Athletics Junior Indoor Open) followed by the region's indoor championships at Swansea on Saturday 13th January and Saturday 20th January.

WEST WALES 200M, 300M, 400M, 800M & 1500M INDOOR REGIONAL ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Cardiff will host the West Wales Indoor Athletics Championships sprints and endurance events on Sunday 3rd December and Sunday 7th January respectively.

The following regional championship events will be incorporated into the Welsh Athletics Junior Indoor Open Meetings (U13, U15 & U17) at the National Indoor Athletics Centre, Cardiff.

Sunday 3rd December @ Cardiff: 200m, 300m & 400m

(other U13, U15 & U17 events on these days are open/JGP to West Wales athletes)

Sunday 7th January @ Cardiff: 800m & 1500m

(other U13, U15 & U17 events on these days are open/JGP to West Wales athletes)

 

WEST WALES INDOOR REGIONAL ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The West Wales Indoor Athletics Championships will return to Swansea University in 2024 on Saturday 13th January and Saturday 20th January. Entries will open in December. Events will include:

- 13th January, Day 1: 60m, 60m Hurdles, Shot

- 20th January, Day 2: Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault

ELIGIBILITY:

To participate in the West Wales championships all athletes must be registered to their club & Welsh Athletics, in addition must have one of the following qualifications:

A: - BIRTH; the athlete having been born in West Wales (Dyfed or West Glamorgan).

B: - RESIDENCE; a minimum of 9 months continuous residence in West Wales immediately prior to this event.

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 West Wales eligible runners in each discipline at either Cardiff or Swansea.
