Welsh Athletics Road Relay Championships 2023 - Pembrey Country Park, Llanelli (Saturday 9th September)

For the fifth year, Welsh Athletics staged its Welsh Road Relay Championships for all age groups in West Wales at Pembrey Country Park on Saturday 9th September. Previously these races have been held in Llandow Circuit Track and Ynysangharad Park in Pontypridd.

The 55th running of the fixture returned to the National Closed Road Cycling Circuit and the surrounding parkland. Approximately 800 athletes entered this year's road relay championships.

The event provided the chance for both established and up-and-coming endurance runners in Wales to compete in a competitive team format at the beginning of the autumn season.

Well done to all the club members who took part on the day and thanks to the parents and team managers who also attended.

There were team victories for the Primary School girls along with bronze in the Primary School boys. Elsewhere, the Under 13 Girls, Under 15 Girls and Under 17 Men teams finished just outside the podium positions in fourth.

The second race saw Emily Evans-Williams finish in third overall whilst Amelia Williams was a joint gold medallist individually too, for the fastest leg in the under 15 girls' age group. Tomos Cai Davies recorded the second fastest leg in the under 13 boys' category.
