Record-breaking numbers at Welsh Inter-Schools & Colleges Cross Country Championships 2025

Carmarthen Harriers runners were among hundreds of pupils to travel to Powys for the Welsh Inter-Schools & Colleges Cross Country Championships on Wednesday 22nd October.

In its biggest event to date, the midweek fixture was set against the scenic backdrop of the Brecon Beacons at Penlan Arena.

Athletes were representing Greenhill, Bro Myrddin, Maes Y Gwendraeth, Dyffryn Aman, Queen Elizabeth High, Aberteifi, Bro Teifi and Coleg Sir Gar.

1,500 athletes from 100 schools and colleges across the eight Welsh districts took part.

Competing in the year 7 and 8 races were Emily Baker, Bethan Hampshire, Mared Rees, Anya Walters, Tayla Williams, Dylan Williams, Dafydd Williams, Mason Wrona and Cyrus Pyzer.

Manon Phillips, Lily Morgan, Phoebe Evans, Paige-lily Williams and Alex Ladd were in action over the year 9 and 10 distances.

6 athletes lined up in the year 11 and above combined race, featuring Amelia Williams, Nansi Griffiths, Anastasia Eggleston-Stoker, Macy Blue, Sam Griffiths and Sion Rowlands.
