The 2022/2023 John H Collins Gwent Cross Country League season began in October in the Welsh Capital and ended five months later in March at Pontypool.
Llandaff Fields (Cardiff), Blaise Castle (Bristol), Pembrey Country Park, Margam Park (Port Talbot) and Pontypool Park were the venues as the league returned to its usual fifth match format.
Each fixture saw between 800 and 1,300 athletes take part across a range of age groups, novice (under 11), under 13, under 15, under 17, under 20 and the senior age groups which attracted the most numbers.
Carmarthen & District Harriers hosted the another successful fixture in Carmarthenshire at Pembrey Country Park near Llanelli before Christmas (round three), where almost 1,300 competitors took part over the ten-race programme.
Athletes who finished in the top 10 of their respective age group were Jessica Hyland (2nd - U20W), Tomos Cai Davies (4th - Novice Boys), Ifan Bowen (8th - U17M) and Steffan Davies (10th - U17M).
A big thanks to all the club athletes and their parents who have supported the league this year and travelled the long journeys across South Wales and over to Bristol.
