A busy summer of athletics fixtures has concluded for Carmarthen Harriers members which began on the first weekend of April and ended four months later. They participated at various track and field and road running events in the second half of August.
From the home track in Johnstown to Watford and Manchester, athletes of all ages produced great results at club level as the summer athletics season came to a close this weekend.
Below are the Carmarthen Harriers club results from events held between August 19th and August 31st at Carmarthen, Watford, Cilycwm, Tonypandy, Worcester, Exeter, Manchester and Cardiff.
Carmarthen Harriers Under 11 Competition (Tuesday 19th August)
At the home track, the club hosted a fun competition for the under 11 age group during the summer holidays on Tuesday 19th August, which was an opportunity to enhance participation in the sport for this age group.
It saw younger athletes take part in a variety of disciplines, including the 75m and 600m on the track, followed by long jump and Vortex throw.
Watford Harriers Open - Watford (Wednesday 20th August)
Two weeks on from the last fixture, Iwan Thomas made the trip back to South East England for the latest Watford Harriers Open Graded meeting. He placed third in the 3000m with 8:38.35.
Cilycwm 5 mile and junior fun run - Cilycwm (Friday 22nd August)
In the North of the county at Cilycwm near Llandovery, the 5 mile and junior fun run was back to start the bank holiday weekend.
Completing the 5-mile was runner-up Jake Lynock (33:20), Paul Clarke (34:03), Elizabeth Tremlett (38:26) and Esme Lynock (43:01). In the children’s 1 loop, Oliver Horn (19:39) and Alys Tremlett (24:36) were third with teammate Davy Richards (22:24) also participating.
Tonypandy Track Classic 2025 - Tonypandy (Saturday 23rd August)
The Tonypandy Track Classic was organised for only the second time on Saturday 23rd August at the King George VI Athletics Track in Tonypandy. Nine of the club's endurance athletes made the journey to the Rhondda Valleys, competing in three different disciplines.

Kidderminster and Stourport AC Mike Lambert Open and Exeter Harriers Open Meeting (Monday 25th - Tuesday 26th August)
The Bank Holiday weekend ended in Worcester at the Kidderminster and Stourport AC Mike Lambert Open.
Tayla Williams competed in the under 13 girls discus (12.38m), shot (5.20m) and javelin (9.81m) throws. Paige-lily Williams' three individual events included the 100m (16.25), javelin (13.09m) and shot (6.60m).
The pair also travelled South to the Exeter Harriers open meeting and British Milers Club Endurance races the day after on Tuesday where they participated in the long jump (2.33m), shot (5.38m), javelin (10.56m) and 1500m (5:43.08).
Manchester Senior Track & Field International - Manchester Regional Arena (Saturday 30th August)
Under 20 Para thrower Jac Sheehan travelled to Manchester over the weekend for the annual Manchester Senior Track and Field International.
At the Regional Athletics Arena in the para seated shot, he finished fourth by throwing a new personal best of 8.20m in round four.
Sportsshoes Home Nations 5K - Bute Park (Saturday 30th August)
In the Welsh Capital, Steffan Davies and Huw Davies took part in the Sportsshoes Podium Home Nations 5K in Bute Park, Cardiff.
On a fast course consisting of three-laps, they recorded finishing times of 15:32 and 17:50 respectively.
