Dyfed Secondary Schools & Colleges Athletics Championships 2025 - 3rd/9th June

The Dyfed Secondary Schools & Colleges Athletics Championships returns to Carmarthen Athletics Track in Johnstown over a day-two competition.

Mae Pencampwriaethau Athletau Ysgolion Uwchradd a Cholegau Dyfed yn dychwelyd i Drac Athletau Caerfyrddin yn Nhre Ioan dros gyfnod o ddau ddiwrnod.

The first set of events on Tuesday 3rd June will begin at 10.00am on the field and the track; hurdles at 10.00am. Events are expected to finish at approximately 3:00pm.

The Dyfed Secondary Schools Athletics Championships will continue on Monday evening 9th June where the final 4 events of the 2025 championships will be held. These include 3000m and 1500m/2000m steeplechase along with the hammer and pole vault in the field.

 

 

A number of track and field records were broken in 2024 and athletes will be eyeing to add their name to the list of records this season.

Age Groups are: Year 7 boys and girls, Year 8 boys and girls, Year 9 boys and girls, Middle boys and girls (10/11) and Senior boys and girls (12/13).

Events on Tuesday are: 100m/200m/300m/400m, sprint hurdles, 300m/400m Hurdles, 800m, 1500m, 1000m walk, long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot, javelin, discus.

Competitors have been invited to participate in Carmarthen after finishing in the leading positions at the school’s area events in Brianne, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Llanelli held in Johnstown over recent weeks.

A Dyfed Schools team will be selected to compete at the Welsh Schools U15, U17 & U20 Track & Field Championships at Aberdare on Saturday 5th July 2025. Afan Nedd Tawe, Cardiff & Vale, Dyfed, Eryri, Glamorgan Valleys, North East Wales, Powys and South East Wales will be competing in Aberdare and is the selecting race for the SIAB Schools Track & Field International in Derby later this summer.
