Over 400 pupils from years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 travelled to Ysgol Dyffryn Taf in Whitland and Haverfordwest Racecourse for the first of the respective Brianne and Pembrokeshire Secondary Schools Cross Country fixtures on Tuesday 24th September. It's become a popular grassroots event for secondary schools in the counties of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire during the autumn and winter season.
In Whitland, six schools - Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, Ammanford; Ysgol Maes Y Gwendraeth, Cefneithin, Ysgol Bro Myrddin, Carmarthen; Queen Elizabeth High School, Carmarthen, Llandovery College and hosts Ysgol Dyffryn Taf - were involved.
Meanwhile, Pembrokeshire's schools were in action further West at the venue that will host the Dyfed Schools district Championships early next year.

Carmarthen's Ysgol Bro Myrddin is the venue for the second fixture, before Ysgol Dyffryn Aman host before the Christmas break.
Open to Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 pupils, speak to PE teachers for the full individual school details.
The start of the New Year will see a busy schedule with the Area Cross Country events following on to the Dyfed Schools and Welsh Schools Cross Country Championships. For sprinters, jumpers and throwers across the county, there will be Indoor Sportshall Athletics opportunities at Llanelli.
