September has seen the beginning of the autumn Road Running season, including the Welsh Athletics Road Relay Championships and Admiral Swansea Bay 10K over the past seven days.

CP Sport National Athletics Championships - Coventry (Sunday 7th September)

On Sunday 7th September, the annual CP Sport National Athletics Championships took place at the University of Warwick in Coventry.

Jac Sheehan won silver in the seated shot with a best of 7.65m.

 

 

CDF Cardiff 10K - Cardiff City Centre (Sunday 7th September)

On Sunday 7th September, Elizabeth Tremlett finished in third position in the vet 45 category in the Welsh Capital at the CDF Cardiff 10K, in a time of 42.11.

 

British & Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships (Saturday 13th September)

It was Wales' turn to host the 2025 British & Irish Junior Mountain Running International at Canolfan Y Fron near Caernarfon, on a familiar course to many of the Welsh athletes who competed at the trial races nine weeks ago.

Carmarthen trio, Nansi Griffiths, Sali Owen and Amelia Williams represented the Welsh U17 women’s team who won bronze in the team event.

Admiral Swansea Bay 1K, 3K & 10K 2025 - Swansea (Sunday 14th September)

Over 4,000 runners of all ages and abilities participated at the Admiral Swansea Bay 1K, 3K & 10K races on Sunday 14th September, incorporating the Welsh 10K Road Championships.

Swansea Bay seafront, near St Helens Rugby Ground played host to a festival day of running as Admiral sponsored the Swansea Bay Races and organised by Swansea County Council.

There were club representatives across all categories - the 1K, 3K & 10K.

Welsh Athletics Road Relay Championships 2025 - Parc Bryn Bach, Tredegar (Saturday 20th September)

On the third weekend of September, Welsh Athletics staged its Welsh Road Relay Championships at a new location in Parc Bryn Bach on Saturday 20th September.

The 57th running of the fixture moved to the Tredegar-based park, with the course taking runners around the lake and nearby paths.

On a wet day, the Under 17 Women's and Primary School Girls teams finished in second position.
