September has seen the beginning of the autumn Road Running season as two events returned to West Wales, including the Welsh Athletics Road Relay Championships and Admiral Swansea Bay 10K over the past seven days.
Welsh Athletics Road Relay Championships 2024 - Pembrey Country Park, Llanelli (Saturday 7th September)
For the sixth year, Welsh Athletics staged its Welsh Road Relay Championships for all age groups in West Wales at Pembrey Country Park on Saturday 7th September. Previously these races have been held in Llandow Circuit Track and Ynysangharad Park in Pontypridd.
The 56th running of the fixture returned to the National Closed Road Cycling Circuit and the surrounding parkland. More than 900 athletes entered this year's road relay championships, one of the biggest to date.
The event provided the chance for both established and up-and-coming endurance runners in Wales to compete in a competitive team format.
Well done to all the club members who took part on the day and thanks to the parents and team managers who also attended.
With great performances across all categories, there was silver for the under 13 boys and under 13 girls' A teams. Elsewhere, the primary school girls, under 15 girls and under 17 men A teams were in third position.

CP Sport National Athletics Championships - Coventry (Sunday 8th September)
On Sunday 8th September, the annual CP Sport National Athletics Championships took place at the University of Warwick in Coventry, giving track and field opportunities to athletes with cerebral palsy.
Jac Sheehan enjoyed a successful day, claiming gold in the discus with 25.73m followed by a throw of 8.53m silver in the shot put.
Admiral Swansea Bay 1K, 3K & 10K 2024 - Swansea (Sunday 15th September)
Over 4,000 runners of all ages and abilities participated at the Admiral Swansea Bay 1K, 3K & 10K races on Sunday 15th September, incorporating the Welsh 10K Road Championships.
Swansea Bay seafront, near St Helens Rugby Ground played host to a festival day of running as Admiral sponsored the Swansea Bay Races and organised by Swansea County Council.
The junior races over 1K and 3K earlier in the morning was followed by the 10K and 100m mascot race!
The race took place along the beautiful and iconic sweep of Swansea Bay. Starting alongside St Helen's Rugby Ground, the first half of the course followed the road down to the picturesque Mumbles, before returning along the stunning Swansea promenade taking in its fast, flat surface and scenery.
There were club representatives across all categories - the 1K, 3K & 10K.
