Nominations are OPEN for the Actif Carmarthenshire Sports Awards 2019!

The countdown to find Carmarthenshire's sporting stars of 2019 has begun. The annual Actif Carmarthenshire Sports Awards 2019 is being held on the last day of January next year and will recognise and reward those people whether it be as an individual, coach, volunteer or sports team.

The annual Actif Sport Awards recognise and reward those people who have made a positive difference and who have shown outstanding achievements in their field, whether as an individual, coach, volunteer in a amateur or professional sport, for disabled people and for non-disabled people.

Nominations are now invited (open on Monday 2nd September) for the 12 categories of awards at the 2019 ceremony on Friday evening, January 31st 2020 at the Ffwrnes Theatre in the heart of Llanelli Town Centre.

 

Mae Chwaraeon a Hamdden Actif wedi dechrau'r broses o ddod o hyd i ser chwaraeon Sir Gaerfyrddin am 2019 gyda'r digwyddiad yn cael ei chynnal ar ddiwrnod olaf mis Ionawr y flwyddyn nesaf.

Bydd Gwobrau Chwaraeon blynyddol Actif yn cydnabod ac yn gwobrwyo'r bobl hynny sydd wedi gwneud gwahaniaeth cadarnhaol ac sydd wedi dangos cyflawniadau rhagorol yn eu maes boed fel unigolyn, hyfforddwr, yn wirfoddolwr neu'n dim chwaraeon mewn camp amaturaidd neu broffesiynol, i bobl anabl ac i bobl nad ydynt yn anabl.

Bellach, gofynnir am enwedibadau ar gyfer 12 categori o wobrau (wedi agor ar Dydd Llun 2ail Medi) yn sermoni Gwobrau Chwaraeon 2019, a gynhelir ar Nos Wener, 31ain Ionawr 2020 yn Theatr Y Ffwrnes yng nghanol tref Llanelli.

 

 

ACTIF CARMARTHENSHIRE SPORTS AWARDS 2019 CATEGORIES - CATEGORIAU GWOBRAU CHWARAEON SIR GAERFYRDDIN ACTIF 2019

SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR - PERSONOLIAETH CHWARAEON Y FLWYDDYN

Open to any male or female sports person. Individuals who have achieved success at an International level, representing Wales and/or Great Britain within their sport.

 

YOUNG SPORTSMAN OF THE YEAR - CHWARAEWR IFANC Y FLWYDDYN

Nominees must be in the Junior category of their sport and under 21. Individuals who have achieved success at an International level, representing Wales and/or Great Britain within their sport. If under 21 and have competed in a senior event, they can also be nominated for the Sports Personality of the year Award.

 

YOUNG SPORTSWOMAN OF THE YEAR - CHWARAEWRAIG IFANC Y FLWYDDYN

Nominees must be in the Junior category of their sport and under 21. Individuals who have achieved success at an International level, representing Wales and/or Great Britain within their sport. If under 21 and have competed in a senior event, they can also be nominated for the Sports Personality of the year Award.

 

DISABLED SPORTSPERSON OF THE YEAR - CHWARAEWR/CHWARAEWRAIG ANABL Y FLWYDDYN

To be awarded regardless of age. Male and female sports people who are involved within their sport at a Community, Regional, National and/or International level.

 

HIGH PERFORMANCE SPORTS COACH OF THE YEAR - HYFFORDDWR CHWARAEON O SAFON UCHWL Y FLWYDDYN

Nominees must be a qualified coach within their sporting field. Individuals who have achieved success in coaching athletes/teams performing at Regional, National and/or International level. The winner of this award will automatically be entered for the Sport Wales Coach of the Year.

 

COMMUNITY SPORTS COACH OF THE YEAR - HYFFORDDWR CHWARAEON CYMUNEDOL Y FLWYDDYN

Nominees must be a qualified coach within their sporting field. Individuals who have devoted their time in getting more people active in sport and retaining their participation in a local community setting.

 

SPORTS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR - GWIRFODDOLWR CHWARAEON Y FLWYDDYN

Open to any male or female over 21 of age, who have given up their time and energy to lead and inspire within an organisation eg school, sports club, youth group. Roles undertaken could involve leading sessions, running events, officiating and administration. Voluntary work is unpaid, and predominantly within Carmarthenshire. Nominations are welcome from teachers.

 

YOUNG SPORTS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR - GWIRFODDOLWR CHWARAEON IFANC Y FLWYDDYN

Open to any male or female under 21 of age, who have given up their time and energy to lead and inspire within an organisation eg school, sports club, youth group. Roles undertaken could involve leading sessions, running events, officiating and administration. Voluntary work is unpaid, and predominantly within Carmarthenshire. Nominations are welcome from teachers.

 

TEAM OF THE YEAR - TIM Y FLWYDDYN

Male or female team who have achieved success at a high level within their sport.

 

YOUNG TEAM OF THE YEAR - TIM IFANC Y FLWYDDYN

Male or female Junior team competing within the junior category of the sport who have achieved success at a high level within their sport.

 

SPORTS CLUB OF THE YEAR - CLWB CYMUNEDOL Y FLWYDDYN

New Award in 2018. Awarded to a club that is affiliated to the National Governing Body. Clubs that proactively offers all members within their club (players, coaches, volunteers, officials) an opportunity to develop. Clubs that have made a significant impact on developing their sport through community engagement, promotion and fundraising.

 

THE RYAN JONES MEMORIAL AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICES TO SPORT - GWOBR GOFFA RYAN JONES AM WASANAETHAU RHAGOROL I CHWARAEON

Life time achievement award. Male or female of any age, must be a serving member of a club in the Carmarthenshire area. This category is restricted to volunteers only. Individual who has dedicated over 20 years to improving sport within their community/organisation, from coaching, officiating, administrative roles to washing the kit, preparing refreshments or general maintenance of the club.

 

SPORTING HALL OF FAME (CLOSED ENTRY) - ORIEL YR ANFARWOLION CHWARAEON (DDIM AR AGOR I ENWEBIADAU)

 

 

Nominate your local sporting hero!

Do you know an individual, coach, volunteer, club or school who has demonstrated outstanding sporting achievements? Make sure that their efforts are recognised by nominating them for an award at this year's Carmarthenshire Sports Awards 2019.

Those eligible for an award must either: have been born in the county, be currently resident in the county or be representing a county club or school.

Winning categories in February 2018 were Dewi Griffiths (Athletics), Jessica Robets (Cycling), Ben Thomas (Athletics), Luke Jones (Paracycling), Richard Stepney (Target Shooting), Aled Jones-Davies (Athletics), Nicholas Weed & Roderick Davies (Tregib Sports Facility), Laura Massochi (Hockey), Ammanford Cricket Club XI, Carmarthen Wanderers Cricket Club U13s, Merlins Netball and Ian Howell (Llanelli Amateur Swimming Club)
