Some of you may be aware that work is soon to get underway by the County Council resurfacing and improving elements of the Carmarthen Leisure Centre Athletics Track in Johnstown (home of Carmarthen & District Harriers Athletics Club) and this will, of course mean there will be different arrangements made to training sessions on a Tuesday and Thursday.
The club is meeting with the Local Authority next week to get the full details of the works planned.
- However, we have been able to confirm that Tuesday evening training sessions will continue from the Leisure Centre throughout the period of the works (from TBC), using the Leisure Centre sportshall as normal for the 6pm-7pm groups and local roads in the area for the 7pm-8pm athletes.
- A programme of Thursday night and weekend training schedules and venues will be published in the next few weeks which will continue until the refurbished track reopens.
This is an exciting time for the club, county and West Wales, and we would like to thank parents, athletes and the public for their co-operation during the weeks ahead when the track will be out of action.
The Carmarthen Harriers Website Fixtures Page with upcoming 2020 summer season events will be getting updated very soon with finalised details.
