Some of you may be aware that work has got underway by the County Council resurfacing and improving elements of the Carmarthen Leisure Centre Athletics Track in Johnstown (home of Carmarthen & District Harriers Athletics Club) and this will, of course mean there will be different arrangements made to training sessions on a Tuesday and Thursday.
The club has met with the Local Authority this month to get the full details of the works planned.
The track will now be closed from Wednesday 5th February 2020.
** However, we have been able to confirm that TUESDAY EVENING training sessions will continue from Carmarthen Leisure Centre throughout the period of the works, using the Leisure Centre sportshall as normal for the 6pm-7pm groups and local roads in the area / Queen Elizabeth High School car park for the 7pm-8pm athletes. **
** A programme of Thursday night and weekend training schedules and venues will be shared by coaches to the athletes/parents themselves in the next few weeks which will continue until the refurbished track reopens. **
This is an exciting time for the club, county and West Wales, and we would like to thank parents, athletes and the public for their co-operation during the weeks & months ahead when the track will be out of action.
The Carmarthen Harriers Website Fixtures Page with upcoming 2020 summer season events is starting to get updated with confirmed details.
