Admiral Swansea Bay 1K, 3K & 10K 2024: Closing Date fast approaching

Swansea Council is planning for this year’s Admiral Swansea Bay 1K, 3K & 10K to take place on Sunday, September 17.

Swansea Council established the run in 1981 and has continued to organise it ever since –embedding it in the city’s annual events programme.

It’ll be the 17th event that Admiral has sponsored, which, as well as the 10k, offers 1k and 3k junior fun runs, along with a 10k wheelchair race and a mascot race.

There are 4 races and all take place on Sunday 15th September 2024 -

  • Admiral Swansea Bay 10k - starts at 1100

  • Admiral Swansea Bay 3k  - starts at 1000

  • Admiral Swansea Bay 1k  - starts at 0930

  • Admiral Swansea Bay 1k  - starts at 0915

Council cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies said: “Thousands of people see their friends run the 10k, cheer them on at the event and then wish they’d given it a go too. It’d be great for those people to sign up this year and they still have more than seven months to train.

“We’ve had an excellent response to our early bird offer and we are expecting demand for places to be as high as usual.”

Around 4,000 runners took part in last year’s 10k, running between St Helen’s and Mumbles. The event was voted Best 10k in Wales in the 2019 Running Awards.
