The Carmarthen Harriers event camera was present in Llanelli on Friday) for coverage of the only Dyfed area championship match that went ahead this week

The Brianne, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire champs were already called off because of the recent weather, but the conditions in Llanelli were perfect with no sight of any mud but with a strong wind - very different to the scenes found at Bro Dinefwr, Oakwood & Llangrannog!!

The Llanelli Schools cross country championships were held this year at the stunning Pembrey Country Park next to Burry Port on a sunny afternoon once the hailstones shower had cleared away. The competitors enjoyed a good course with a vary of flat and hill running.

Six Llanelli schools came together for the event, with the age groups being Year 7, Year 8/9, Year 10-13 (boys and girls) between the six races saw around 500 finishers! At the end, everybody gathered around for the presentations. Medals were presented to the first three in each race and a shield awarded to the winning school - which this year was Coedcae.

1. Coedcae School

2. Bryngwyn School

3. Glan Y Mor School

4.  St John Lloyd School

5. Ysgol Y Strade

6. St Michaels School

Many thanks to all the helpers, teachers and athletes that turned up to make it a successful event, and for the warm welcome that the Carmarthen Harriers and Llanelli AC officials received.

The top 10 in each race will now go forward and join the large number of athletes expected from Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Brianne at Parc Dinefwr on Tuesday (19 Jan)

RESULTS will be added here once we get them in the next few days.
