Out on the road: Several athletes from the endurance group spent a few days earlier this week up in North Wales competing & training: catch up on what they got up to.

Endurance coaches Delyth Brown & Carol Jones, along with athletes and parents, travelled up north to Llanberis on Tuesday & Wednesday this week, where they started the trg camp by running in the Joe Browns North Wales series at Aber Falls and competed the hard mountain at the venue on Tuesday evening (5 April)

The now famous Midweek Series (also known as the Tuesday Evening Series) was originally devised by Alun Williams and Henry Stansfield, but has been organised and coordinated by longstanding Eryri Harriers club member Mike Blake for the last 20+ years.

The Series involves a number of short fellraces up to 4 miles taking place at locations across North Wales. They are an excellent introduction to fellracing. 2016 marks 23 years of the series, now incorporating 12 races between March 29th and June 21st.

On the evening, a record 111 runners turned out and several records were broken - more than ever before, with Carmarthen Harriers taking 3 of them which was very impressive. Congratulations to all the athletes.

In this event, she ran a F40 record time in 38.58 followed then by Ellie Kiff taking nearly 7 minutes off the under 16 girls' record!

Elsewhere, Daisy Thompson was an overall winner in the under 12's.

The other middle distance athletes who ran well (with no results yet available) were: Iestyn Williams, Gareth Thompson, Trystan Leech, Callum Lovatt, William Thompson, Dwayne Griffiths, Megan Jones & Amber Howell.

On Wednesday 6th April, the group continued to work hard at training at Moel eilio. All involved thoroughly enjoyed their time in North Wales.
