The 2019 edition of the West Wales Indoor Athletics Championships once again takes place at Swansea University Indoor Athletics Track over the weekend of 12th and 13th of January. This is a closed championship for West Wales athletes only (Held under UKA Rules).

All jumps events will be on the Saturday with Shot, 60m & 60m Hurdles on the Sunday. Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 athletes can compete in a maximum of 3 events per day. Under 20 and Senior athletes can compete in a maximum of 5 events per day.

Please note that there is a closing date for this event: 17:00 at WEDNESDAY 2ND JANUARY 2018. Late Entries will not be accepted and strictly no entries on the day. Entries are £4 per event.

For the second year in succession, entry will all be done online. There is no paper entry and you must ensure that your confirmation of entry has been done by 02/01/19.

All athletes from West Wales clubs (Dyfed & West Glamorgan) are invited to enter and put all the training to good use!

To compete athletes must be affiliated to Welsh Athletics via their cub and have eligibility of A and/or B:

A: Birth; the athlete having been born in West Wales (Dyfed or West Glamorgan)

B: Residence; a minimum of 9 months continuous residence in West Wales immediately prior to this event.

No guest athletes are permitted.

 

 

Saturday 12th January / Dydd Sadwrn 12fed Ionawr: Day of jumps events between 12:00 midday and 17:30 with Triple Jump, Long Jump, High Jump and Pole Vault for most age groups. Times on the entry form are provisional and are likely to change slightly depending on number of entries received for each one.

Sunday 13th January / Dydd Sul 13eg Ionawr: Day of 60m Hurdles and 60m Sprint (heats and finals) as well as the Shot Put between 12:00 midday and 17:30 for most age groups. Times on the entry form are provisional and are likely to change slightly depending on number of entries received for each one.

Under 11 / O Dan 11 (Years 4 & 5; must be 9 on day of competition): 60m sprint, Long Jump, Shot Put

Under 13 / O Dan 13 (Years 6 & 7); 60m sprint, 60m hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put

Under 15 / O Dan 15 (Years 8 & 9); 60m sprint, 60m hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put.

Under 17 / O Dan 17 (Years 10 & 11); 60m sprint, 60m hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put.

Under 20 / O Dan 20 60m sprint, 60m hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put.

Seniors M&W: 60m sprint, 60m hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put.

 

Notes / Nodiadau

Strictly no late entries allowed; entry's close at 5pm on Wednesday 2nd January 2019.

Ensure you report to register and collect your numbers no later than 30 minutes before your first event.

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 in each event and each age group.

Athletes to wear their club, school, regional or national vest.

Entry is £4 per event.

Maximum 6 competitors in each 60m sprint race.

Maximum 4 competitors in each 60m hurdles race.

Track Finals will be run at heat times if there are not enough competitors for heats.

In the U17, U20 and Senior age groups, qualification for track FINALS will be heat winners plus the appropriate number of "fastest losers".

In the U11, U13 and U15 age groups, qualification for track FINALS will be the fastest 6 times in 60m and the fastest 4 times in 60m hurdles.

In all track events numbers must be worn front and back securely fastened by safety pins.

Shot, Long Jump and Triple Jump have a maximum of three trials.

Track event athletes must be in the warm up area no later than 10 minutes before their events are due to start. Competitors will be escorted by an official from the warm up area to the start line for track events.
